Our trips to London to see our print designer and tailor are even more exciting and special as we get to stay with my uncle and aunt on their beautiful barge in Canary Wharf.
The barge is magnificent, not only in size – it is 39.5 metres long and 5 metres wide, which my uncle manoeuvres as if he was moving a small boat as he is a river pilot – but in décor as her aunt, Sarah has a fantastic sense of style. When we are on the barge it is hard to venture off, it also doesn’t help that Sarah is also a fabulous cook.
After a long day of making decisions and back-to-back appointments, there is nothing better than a welcome g&t on board followed by a delicious homemade dinner. Waking up on the water to the sound of ducks, well, you forget you are in London, and it sets you up for another busy and demanding day ahead in the city.
